The Airlines Operators Committee Elects New Executive Committee


The Airlines Operators Committee (AOC) revealed the results of its recent executive committee elections.



On February 14, 2024, AOC members convened to elect key leadership positions within the committee. The AOC, a recommended committee by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), exclusively comprises airlines operating at Velana International Airport.


At the helm of the executive committee stands Mr. Munaz Ali, representing Etihad Airways, as the newly elected Chairman. Joining him in steering the committee are distinguished leaders:


  1. Mr. Ahmed Nahushan from Qatar Airways, serving as the 1st Vice Chairman.

  2. Mr. Ahmed Shazme of BeOnd Airline, assuming the role of 2nd Vice Chairman.

  3. Mr. Ali Ghassan Mohamed from Saudia, entrusted with the position of Treasurer.

  4. Mr. Ibrahim Haleem from Maldivian continues to hold the crucial role of Secretary General.



Together, this dynamic team brings a wealth of diverse expertise and perspectives, ensuring that the AOC remains at the forefront of the aviation industry.


The committee has expressed gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Mahjoob Abdulla, and Mr. Zalif Ali, for their unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions during their tenure.
