Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lixin has revealed the launch of special charter flights to the Maldives.
The first of these charter flights with tourists would arrive on 14th February. Considering passenger demand more charter flights would be operated with the plans to operate scheduled passenger flights.
President of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu also revealed that discussions were carried out to increase tourist's arrival to the Maldives following the state visit to China.
Maldives is targeting 2 million tourist arrivals for 2024 and the Chinese tourist market is important as China was once the dominant leading tourist provider to the Maldives.
