National Airline Maldivian To Acquire Five Additional ATR 42s



National airline Maldivian is currently underway to change the entire fleet of De Havilland Dash8s to ATR.

Under the fleet change plans the carrier has already added three ATRs and is currently seeking to acquire five additional ATRs.


Maldivian is seeking to lease five ATR 42-600s new or used to be added in Quarter 4 2023, 2024, and Quarter 1 2025. Interested parties are quoted to submit proposals before 04th May 2023.


At present Maldivian has a fleet of nine De Havilland Dash8s and with additional five ATRs, the carrier will have a fleet of eight ATRs consisting of two ATR 72-600s and six ATR 42-600s.


Over this period Maldivian will also phase out the Dash8s entirely. In addition to ATRs Maldivian is also seeking to add two Airbus A330s.
