The world's first Boeing 777-300ER which has been converted to a freighter has conducted its maiden test flight.
The first "Big Twin" Boeing 777-300ERSF which stands for 'Extended Range Special Freighter’ is expected to complete test flights and enter service by mid-2023 with launch customer Kalitta Air.
The 777-300ERSF will have a maximum payload of 101.6 tonnes and is powered by two GE90 engines with a 21% reduction in fuel burn compared to the Boeing 747-400F. The aircraft also offers up to 25% more capacity than the 777-200F freighter.
The 777-300ERSF climbed up to 20,000ft in the two hour test flight over the Mediterranean before returning back.
