On May 17, 2025, a devastating mid-air collision between two private helicopters occurred near Eura Airfield in southwest Finland, resulting in the deaths of all five individuals on board.

The helicopters, both Robinson R44 models, had departed from Tallinn, Estonia, earlier that morning and were en route to an aviation event at Piikajärvi Airfield in Kokemäki. Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft flying in close formation before one suddenly shifted direction, colliding with the other. The wreckage was discovered approximately 100 meters apart in a forested area.
Among the deceased was Oleg Sönajalg, a well-known Estonian businessman and pilot. The helicopters were registered in Estonia and Austria, respectively.
