An Air Panama Fokker 50, operating as Flight 7P-982, sustained substantial damage after veering off the runway upon landing at Bocas Del Toro International Airport on May 16, 2025. The aircraft, carrying 35 passengers and three crew members, came to a stop approximately 1,000 meters down the runway after colliding with vegetation. Fortunately, all occupants remained unharmed.

The flight had departed from Panama City Albrook-Marcos A. Gelabert
International Airport and was scheduled to land at Bocas Del Toro Airport. Upon touchdown on Runway 27, the aircraft veered to the right, leaving the paved surface before coming to a halt. The Autoridad Aeronáutica Civil de Panamá (AAC)
confirmed the accident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
At the time of the incident, heavy rain was reported in the area, which may have contributed to the aircraft's loss of directional control. The airport's runway length of 1,500 meters and width of 26 meters presents additional challenges for landing operations, particularly in adverse weather conditions. The aircraft sustained damage beyond repair.
