The Indian aviation sector has been severely affected by Operation Sindoor, resulting in unprecedented flight cancellations and airport closures. With escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, air travel has been severely restricted, impacting thousands of passengers across the nation.

Major travel hubs such as Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, and Jodhpur have ceased operations, forcing airlines including Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa to cancel flights indefinitely. Airlines have announced passenger assistance measures, including full refunds and rescheduling waivers.
Security has been tightened at operational airports, requiring passengers to arrive at least three hours before departure. Visitors are prohibited from entering airport terminals, further intensifying the travel experience for affected individuals.
With air routes disrupted, economic fallout is inevitable. Business travelers, cargo shipments, and tourism-related industries are experiencing severe setbacks. Tour operators are canceling bookings, while supply chain disruptions loom large over critical sectors.
Authorities have issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) confirming the suspension of flights until May 15, heightening concerns about prolonged instability. Experts warn that any extension beyond this period could lead to long-term repercussions for India's aviation economy.
The government, along with airline officials, is working to mitigate passenger inconvenience. Airlines are advising travelers to check flight statuses frequently and explore alternate modes of transportation where possible.
