Since its launch in 2019, Manta Air has steadily grown, serving multiple resorts across the Maldives with both seaplane and ATR domestic operations. The airline plans to introduce three additional Twin Otter aircraft by the third quarter of 2025, further strengthening its position as the leading premium air transport provider in the region.

After arrival to the Maldives aircraft will undergo modifications at Manta Air's base in Dhaalu Atoll, where its wheels will be replaced with floats to prepare it for seaplane operations.

The DHC-6 Twin Otter is a versatile twin-engine turboprop aircraft renowned for its rugged durability and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. Manufactured by De Havilland Canada, the Twin Otter is widely used for regional transport, skydiving, and seaplane operations, making it an ideal aircraft for island nations like the Maldives.
