A Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) C-130 Hercules transport aircraft experienced an unexpected mishap at Samui Airport, Thailand, following a brake system malfunction during engine startup procedures.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:30 PM, led the aircraft to collide with a light pole before coming to a stop in nearby bushes.
The aircraft, a Type 8 C-130 operating under Squadron 601, Wing 6, was engaged in a routine flight training operation that spanned Don Mueang, Trang, and Samui before its planned return to Don Mueang. However, upon arriving at Samui Airport and initiating standard ground engine startup procedures, the pilot detected a brake system failure, making it impossible to maintain control of the aircraft within its designated parking area.
Following the incident, RTAF spokesperson Air Vice Marshal Prapas Sonjaidee addressed the situation, stating that immediate steps were taken to secure the aircraft and assess potential damage. Pr
