Emirates has received delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, registered as A6-EXA. This delivery is the first of 65 A350 aircraft that the airline will receive over the next few years, representing the first new aircraft type to join the Emirates fleet since 2008.
The A350-900 was officially handed over to Emirates at a ceremony in Toulouse, France. This addition to the fleet underscores Emirates’ commitment to modernizing its aircraft and enhancing passenger experience with state-of-the-art technology and improved fuel efficiency.
In line with Emirates’ sustainability goals, the delivery flight was powered by a blend of jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This move highlights the airline’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote environmentally friendly practices within the aviation industry.
In Dubai, the A350-900 will undergo final preparations at Emirates Engineering before being officially unveiled at a special event later this week. The aircraft is expected to enter commercial service in January 2025, with its inaugural flight scheduled to Edinburgh, followed by routes to eight other destinations across the Middle East, West Asia, and Europe.
The Airbus A350-900 is known for its advanced aerodynamics, quieter cabin, and improved fuel efficiency, making it a valuable addition to Emirates’ fleet. Passengers can look forward to a more comfortable and environmentally friendly travel experience, aligning with the airline’s reputation for excellence in service and innovation.
