All Nippon Airways (ANA) is expanding its long-running partnership with The Pokémon Company by unveiling three new special aircraft liveries to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The announcement marks one of ANA’s most ambitious themed‑aircraft projects in recent years, blending nostalgia, design innovation, and global fan appeal.

The trio of designs draws inspiration from the original Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue Game Boy titles that launched the global phenomenon in 1996. Each aircraft will feature a distinct color theme and a lineup of iconic starter Pokémon, continuing ANA’s tradition of character‑themed jets that began in the late 1990s.

The first aircraft, known as the Pokémon Red Jet, is set to enter service at the end of July. Its livery highlights Fire‑type starter Pokémon from across the generations, paired with Pikachu as the franchise mascot. The jet will operate on select domestic routes, giving passengers an early look at the anniversary celebration.

Two additional aircraft, Green and Blue will debut later in the year.

The Green Jet is expected to feature Grass‑type starters and operate on international routes.

The Blue Jet, themed around Water‑type Pokémon, will join the domestic fleet once its design is finalized.

Together, the three aircraft form a unified tribute to the games that shaped the Pokémon universe and continue to influence pop culture worldwide.

ANA’s Pokémon jets have long been fan favorites, attracting aviation enthusiasts and travelers alike. This new series reinforces the airline’s commitment to creating memorable travel experiences while celebrating one of Japan’s most recognizable cultural exports.
