Turkish Airlines will strengthen its Maldives network for the 2026 summer season with an additional weekly frequency between Istanbul and Malé, enhancing one of the key long‑haul links connecting the Maldives to Europe and beyond.

The expanded schedule will run from 13 May to 20 October 2026 on the Istanbul–Malé sector (TK 740), with the return flight (TK 741) operating from 14 May to 21 October 2026. The new rotation introduces a Wednesday departure from Istanbul and a Thursday departure from Malé, increasing the airline’s total weekly operations on the route to six flights.

Under the updated timings, flight TK 740 will leave Istanbul at 20:20, arriving in Malé at 06:30 the following morning. The return service, TK 741, will depart Malé at 08:00 and land in Istanbul at 14:20, offering smooth onward connectivity through the carrier’s global hub.

The increase in frequency is expected to support rising demand from European source markets while providing travellers with greater flexibility amid evolving airspace dynamics in parts of the Middle East. Istanbul’s strategic position as a major transit hub enables convenient links to Europe, North America, and other regions, making the route a vital access point for long‑haul visitors to the Maldives.

Industry stakeholders anticipate that the enhanced schedule will bolster both leisure travel and cargo movement during the peak summer period. The move also reflects Turkish Airlines’ continued confidence in the Maldives as a high‑value destination and aligns with national efforts to diversify and strengthen international air access.
