Gulf Air has restarted flight operations at Bahrain International Airport following the official reopening of Bahrain’s airspace, marking a key step in restoring normal aviation activity after weeks of disruption caused by regional geopolitical tensions.

The resumption follows clearance from Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) under the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, which lifted the temporary airspace closure implemented as a precaution amid escalating conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. The shutdown had prompted widespread airspace restrictions across the region, affecting commercial schedules and forcing airlines to reroute or suspend services.
Gulf Air confirmed it has resumed limited scheduled flights to and from Bahrain International Airport, with initial services covering key destinations including:
Dubai
Jeddah
Riyadh
London Heathrow
Nairobi
Dhaka
Mumbai
Kochi
Delhi
Hyderabad
Islamabad
Lahore
Thiruvananthapuram
Operations will scale up gradually as the airline works to stabilise its network and coordinate with aviation authorities across the region.
Bahrain Airport Company, the operator of Bahrain International Airport, confirmed that flight movements are returning in stages as airlines rebuild schedules and reconnect disrupted routes. Passengers are being advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest timings, as adjustments are expected during the transition period.
Gulf Air’s leadership expressed appreciation for the support of Bahrain’s government and regional aviation partners throughout the airspace closure. The airline said it will continue to monitor developments closely and coordinate with authorities to ensure safe, reliable operations.
