A FedEx Airbus A300‑600F experienced a nose‑landing‑gear collapse on Wednesday while parked outside the company’s maintenance facility in Baltimore. The aircraft was undergoing maintenance at the time of the event.

Airport fire and rescue teams responded after the aircraft’s nose gear unexpectedly gave way, causing the forward fuselage to settle onto the apron. The aircraft was stationary, and the situation remained contained to the FedEx maintenance area. There were no operational disruptions at the airport.

FedEx confirmed the event and noted that the aircraft was not in service at the time. The company added that the response followed standard safety procedures.

The aircraft involved is an Airbus A300‑600F, registered N682FE and named Gabrial. The jet is nearly 27 years old and is part of FedEx’s long‑serving A300 fleet, which supports medium‑haul cargo operations across the network.

FedEx continues to operate one of the world’s largest A300 fleets, many of which are approaching three decades in service. The carrier has been gradually modernizing its fleet, though the A300 remains a key workhorse for domestic cargo routes.
