Authorities in Spain are investigating an incident at Valencia Airport after a Moroccan man gained access to the airside area and climbed onto the roof of a Vueling Airbus A320 on Saturday.

The individual reportedly reached the aircraft by using the passenger stairs positioned at the forward door before making his way onto the top of the fuselage.

Airport security and members of the Civil Guard responded immediately. According to officials, three civil guards engaged with the man and persuaded him to come down after roughly ten minutes. No injuries to airport staff or passengers were reported, and the aircraft involved remained on the ground during the incident.

Airport sources said the same man had been seen inside the terminal the previous day, when he approached an airline employee to ask about flights to Morocco. It is not yet clear how he later managed to access the restricted area where the aircraft was parked.

After being brought down safely, the man received initial medical attention at the airport. Medical sources confirmed that he was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Psychiatric Unit of the General Hospital of Valencia for further evaluation.

Local authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the breach, including how the individual entered the secure zone and whether additional security measures may be required.
