Maldivian has operated its Airbus A330 aircraft to Gan International Airport for the first time today, marking the type’s inaugural service to the southern Maldives under the national carrier’s current fleet.

The wide-body aircraft, introduced earlier this year, was deployed on a domestic sector to Addu Atoll’s international gateway, which is equipped to handle long-haul aircraft. While Gan has previously received wide-body movements, this is the first operation involving Maldivian’s newly acquired A330.
The flight took place on the morning of November 13. Additional A330 operations to Gan are expected over the coming days, though the airline has not issued further details regarding scheduling or intent.
