De Havilland Twin Otter 300-G Unveiled at Paris Air Show in Zimex Livery

The Twin Otter Classic 300-G has made its global debut at the 2025 Paris Air Show, displayed in Zimex Aviation’s livery. This next-generation Twin Otter, built by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited, represents a significant milestone in utility aviation, combining the legendary Twin Otter DNA with modern enhancements.

The unveiling of the Twin Otter 300-G marks a special occasion for Zimex Aviation**, which signed on as the launch customer at the 2023 Paris Air Show. Now, two years later, the first of two 300-G aircraft is ready to enter service, reinforcing Zimex’s position as a leader in specialized flight operations. As the official EASA launch operator, Zimex Aviation continues to set industry standards, bringing the upgraded Twin Otter into real-world readiness.


The Twin Otter 300-G introduces several key upgrades while maintaining the rugged reliability that has made the Twin Otter a staple in aviation. Among its standout features are:


  • Lighter airframe for improved fuel efficiency and payload capacity

  • Garmin G1000NXi avionics suite for advanced navigation and operational precision

  • Redesigned cabin interior with lightweight materials, enhanced passenger comfort, and increased cargo flexibility


With MSN 998 now officially unveiled, the aircraft is set to join the Zimex Aviation fleet following final certification. Zimex, headquartered in Switzerland, operates worldwide in humanitarian, cargo, and remote logistics missions, making the upgraded Twin Otter an ideal platform for demanding environments.

Brian Chafe, CEO of De Havilland Canada, emphasized the significance of the aircraft’s debut, stating, “This aircraft is a testament to De Havilland Canada’s continued investment in innovation and our commitment to supporting our global customers with efficient, modern, and dependable solutions.”


Meanwhile, Daniele Cereghetti, CEO of Zimex Aviation Ltd., expressed excitement about the new addition, saying, “The Twin Otter aircraft have been the backbone of our business for the last 56 years. We are thrilled to welcome the new Twin Otter into our family and proud to be the first operator of the 300-G with EASA approval.”
