An Air India flight bound for New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing in Phuket, Thailand, after receiving a bomb threat mid-air. The flight, AI 379, carrying 156 passengers, had taken off from Phuket International Airport at 9:30 AM local time but was compelled to return following the alarming security concern.

Upon landing, all passengers were safely evacuated in accordance with emergency protocols. Authorities at Airports of Thailand (AOT) confirmed that passengers were escorted off the aircraft without incident. The flight had initially proceeded towards India but made a wide loop over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket.

While the nature and source of the bomb threat remain undisclosed, local Thai authorities have launched an investigation. Air India has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Security teams are conducting thorough inspections to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

This incident comes amid growing concerns over aviation security, particularly as Indian airlines have faced numerous hoax bomb threats in recent years. Additionally, the emergency landing occurred just a day after a tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad, which claimed over 240 lives.

While unrelated, these events have heightened discussions around airline safety measures.
