An aircraft currently visible on flight tracking operating over Gan International Airport appears as a possible drone deployment or test activity in Addu City. The aircraft’s flight profile is at high altitude, slow speed, and circular patterns suggests characteristics consistent with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations.

This development follows the recent arrival of a Rubystar Airways cargo aircraft at Gan International Airport, originating from Tekirdağ, Turkey, with a scheduled stopover in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
Tekirdağ is notably home to Baykar Technologies, a leading Turkish defense manufacturer recognized for its production of advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms. Although the specific contents of the Rubystar shipment have not been publicly disclosed, the flight’s routing and point of origin have drawn attention due to Baykar’s strategic role in supplying UAV systems to international defense partners.
The Maldives has previously incorporated Baykar-manufactured drones into its national defense framework, with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) actively operating UAVs for maritime surveillance, and search-and-monitoring missions across the country.
In light of the recent aerial activity observed over Addu City, the timing of the Rubystar delivery raises the possibility that new equipment may be undergoing testing, or that additional UAV assets are being introduced to expand the existing operational fleet.
