Contrails or vapor trails are line-shaped clouds produced by aircraft engine exhaust or due to changes in air pressure, typically at aircraft cruising high altitudes.
Today a beautiful contrail was spotted over Maldivian skies from an Emirates Boeing 777 entering holding at nearly FL300.
The aircraft entered the holding pattern at FL300 and continued decent for FL180 in the holding pattern before being vectored by air traffic control for a runway 36 arrival.
Normally straight line of contrails will be seen in the skies from aircraft that are cruising crossing Maldives at higher altitudes.
