Flight operations slowly getting busier at Trans Maldivian Airways

Trans Maldivian Airways is the largest seaplane operator in the world. With the reopening of borders, passenger arrival to the Maldives has been slowly on the rise.

Since reopening of borders over 37,000 tourists have visited the Maldives. Maldives is already on Forbes list for 20 best places to travel in 2021.

TMA is today flying about 500 to 800 passengers a day. The airline is expecting to transfer up to 1000 passengers per day and more from November.

The numbers are still low compared to 2019 as during this time of the year the airline would normally transfer 3000 to 4000 passengers a day.
