Boeing to add two production lines to convert Boeing 737-800s to freighters


Boeing to add two production lines to convert Boeing 737-800s into freighters that will be operated by Cooperativa Autogestionaria de Servicios Aeroindustriales.


The manufacturer has already delivered over 50 737-800 converted freighters to more than 10 operators across the globe with Amazon owning more cargo 737 aircraft than any other airline.


The demand for cargo flights has increased over the pandemic with cargo volume transferred reaching record levels in March, as per International Air Transport Association.


Under the “Big Twin” project, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is converting passenger 777-300ER into freighters with 15 aircraft in order.
