American Airlines is celebrating 95th anniversary
Established on 15th April 1926, American Airlines is celebrating 95 years of service. To celebrate this occasion the airline is donating 10 million AAdvantage miles to the Make-A-Wish foundation which would help grant 95 wishes.
“We believe caring for people on life’s journey extends to those in the communities where American’s team members live and work,” said Ron DeFeo, American’s Senior Vice President of Global Engagement.
American Airline was established by the merger of several carriers through the late 1920s forming as American Airways later rebranded as American Airlines in 1934.
American Airlines is today the worlds largest airline in terms of fleet size, scheduled passengers carried, and revenue passenger mile.
With 10 hubs the airline operates 6,800 flights per day to 350 destinations with a fleet consisting of 860 aircraft handling more than 200 million passengers annually with an average of 500,000 per day.
