Climate Activists Block Private Jets In Amsterdam Schipol Airport

Climate activists have breached Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport in order to stop private Jets from departing.



According to Greenpeace Netherlands, more than 500 activists were present at the airport carrying flags and banners with slogans written 'SOS for the climate' and 'Fly no more.


Soon after protests began border police started arresting activists. Greenpeace has said that police were too heavy-handed against the activists on bicycle's and that at least one person received a head injury.


In response, Schiphol Airport said they have plans to become an emissions-free airport by 2030 and it supported targets for the aviation industry to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
