Maldivian Launching Flights To Colombo, Sri Lanka From April

Maldivian Airlines, the national carrier of the Maldives is launching flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, starting from April 25th, 2024.



This strategic move underscores Maldivian’s commitment to fostering connections between the Maldives and key international destinations, while also promoting cultural exchange and economic ties.


Mr. Ibrahim Iyas, the Managing Director of Maldivian, expressed enthusiasm about this new route, stating, “We have eagerly awaited the opportunity to serve Colombo, bridging the gap between Maldives and Sri Lanka for both business and leisure travelers. This expansion strengthens our international network and reinforces our dedication to connecting the Maldives with the global community. We extend our gratitude to all the authorities and partners who have supported the realization of this new route.”


Colombo, with its rich historical heritage, diverse cultural tapestry, and thriving business prospects, is a valuable addition to Maldivian’s growing network of destinations. Travelers can look forward to exploring this vibrant city, known for its bustling markets, ancient temples, and modern skyscrapers.


Booking tickets for the Colombo route will open on February 29th, 2024, accessible through various channels, including Maldivian’s website, mobile app, and ticketing office.


For added convenience, Maldivian will operate two weekly flights to Colombo, departing every Thursday and Saturday. Whether you’re planning a leisurely weekend getaway or a business trip, these flights offer seamless connections to Maldivian’s extensive domestic network, which spans 16 destinations within the Maldives.
