Maldives Signs Bilateral Air Consultation With Indonesia Paving Way For Air Travel  Between The Two

The Republic of the Maldives and the Republic of Indonesia have signed a bilateral air consultation agreement after nine years of discussions.



The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the provision of air services between the two countries was signed, and the text of the Air Service Agreement was adopted by both parties.


This MoU will open up new opportunities for air travel between the Maldives and Indonesia. Designated airlines from the Maldives will be able to operate scheduled flights to Denpasar, Kertajati, and Yogyakarta in Indonesia. Similarly, designated airlines from Indonesia will be able to operate scheduled flights to Male’ and Gan in the Maldives.


The signing of this agreement marks a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries and is expected to boost tourism and trade between them. The new air routes will provide travelers with more options and convenience when planning their trips between the Maldives and Indonesia. This is an exciting development for both countries and their respective aviation industries.
