As the Ukraine Russia conflict continues as part of sanctions many countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, etc banned Russian operators from using their airspace.
Russia has responded back by banning carriers from 36 countries including all 27 members of the European Union from using their airspace.
Humanitarian flights were exempted from the ban and special exceptions can be made with authorization from the Russian government.
Airspace shutdowns and flight cancellations will set their toll on passengers and cargo traffic which will affect the global supply chain.
Hundreds of flights will be affected by airspace bans imposed from various countries which have already resulted in many flight cancellations and ticket prices are expected to rise as many flights are required to be rerouted.
