Valentine’s Day is the peak day of the year for florists with one airline, Qatar Airways delivering a whopping 60 million roses this year.
During Valentine’s Day period the London-based IAG Cargo delivered 500 tonnes of flower across the world along with one critical job carrying eight tonnes of champagne from London, UK to the Maldives.
IAG Cargo and freight forwarders transport flowers from farms to customer shelves within just 72 hours.
The most in-demand flowers were tulips, roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums with origin countries including Kenya, India, South Africa, Holland, Colombia, and Ecuador.
